The hotel, as it is
Shot on the property in one week. No stock images, no borrowed views, nothing retouched into somewhere else.

The Pool
Twenty-five metres of saltwater, lumbung roofs at one end and bougainvillea down the length of it. The middle of the hotel in every sense.
Rooms
Teak platforms, driftwood headboards and hand-cut carvings — all made on Lombok, most of it within a few kilometres of here.
Bathrooms
River-stone basins, walk-in showers and a separate toilet in every room. Open to the light, closed to everything else.
Breakfast & Lounge
À la carte breakfast under the shade, a lounge that stays cool through the afternoon, and a terrace that fills up around sunset.
Details
The parts of the hotel that took the longest: the carved corridor, the lanterns, the fish on the walls.
