Gili Trawangan · Indonesia
Twelve rooms around a twenty-five metre saltwater pool. Teak, driftwood and stone — and the north-east beach three minutes up the lane.
The 5 Brothers Hotel
Five brothers built this place on a lane set back from the harbour, and it still runs the way a family house runs. Twelve rooms, one pool, and nobody hurrying you anywhere.
The teak, the driftwood headboards and the carved fish on the walls were all made on Lombok. The pool is saltwater, twenty-five metres end to end, and it is where most of the day happens. The north-east beach is three minutes up the lane, and the island has no cars at all.

The pool
It runs the length of the hotel, with lumbung roofs at the far end and bougainvillea the whole way down. Sun on one side through the morning, shade on the other by mid-afternoon.
Loungers, bean bags and a lot of quiet. The Pool Access rooms open straight onto the deck, so you can be in the water four steps from the bed.
Rooms
Every room has air conditioning, a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and separate toilet, a safety deposit box and a tea and coffee set. What changes is the bed, the view and how close you are to the water.

Mornings here
À la carte rather than a buffet — you order in the morning and it comes out fresh. Vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten-free and Asian options are all on the list; tell us in advance and we will have it ready.
After that the lounge stays cool through the afternoon and the terrace fills up again around sunset. Bikes are at the front if you want to ride the island loop.

Facilities
Nothing extravagant — just the things that make a week on a small island easy.
Gallery
Every photograph on this site was taken at the hotel — no stock, no borrowed views.
Where we are
Jl. Anemon sits back from the harbour strip, far enough that the music doesn't reach you, close enough to walk everywhere. There are no cars on the island — you arrive by boat and get around on foot, by bike or by cidomo.
Boats to the Gilis run from Bangsal harbour on Lombok and from Padangbai and Serangan on Bali. Tell us your arrival time on WhatsApp and we will meet you at the jetty.

Reservations
One message on WhatsApp is enough. We will confirm availability, quote the current rate and arrange your boat transfer.
